Matthew Robbins (born 1945) is an American screenwriter, film producer and director.〔Maslin, Janet. ("Screen: Saga of a Car In 'Corvette Summer': A Double Debut," ''New York Times'' (August 4, 1978). ) Accessed May 18, 2009.〕 He has worked with Steven Spielberg, George Lucas, Guillermo del Toro and Walter Murch and has had cameo appearances in ''THX 1138'' and ''Close Encounters of the Third Kind''. Robbins frequently worked with Hal Barwood. Prior to attending USC School of Cinematic Arts, Robbins graduated from Johns Hopkins University in 1965 where he was classmate and friends with Walter Murch and Caleb Deschanel.
